ABOUT

IAPE is committed to creating a leading global platform for design education, research, and skill development. Our mission is to nurture the next generation of outstanding designers. We provide interactive courses led by experienced experts and consultants, supporting students in architecture, planning, and landscape design with their study abroad plans, while also offering career training tailored to young designers.

Our founder, Mr. Tan Shee Tiong, has over 10 years of experience as an Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Driven by his vision to nurture future talents through an interactive education platform, he has guided many of his students to win prestigious design awards from the Singapore Institute of Planners.

Our team includes Ph.D. and master’s graduates from world-renowned institutions such as Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, NUS, and the London School of Economics (LSE). With extensive expertise in design education and projects, we have successfully helped students gain admission to top universities like Harvard, UC Berkeley, Columbia, UCL, the AA School, NUS, and LSE. We proudly maintain a 95% success rate for admissions to schools ranked in the global top 100 and specialty rankings.

WHY IAPE

Methodology

IAPE promotes new educational model, Futuristic Interaction Framework, by emphasizing future-oriented design without indulging in speculative or futile projections. We aim to gain a more comprehensive understanding of problems through interactions among various professions, dimensions, backgrounds, and stakeholders (Krebs Cycle of Creativity, Neri Oxman). By stimulating diverse perspectives, we seek valuable insights and possibilities to create a Preferable Future (Futures Cone, Stuart Candy) that reflects the interests of multiple stakeholders and complex nature of urban environment.

Traditional design and design education have generally focused on problem-solving within a single professional domain（Affirmative Design）. Designers ambitiously seek to address major challenges like group conflicts, wealth disparity, and climate change using tools from their own field, which we call affirmative design. While this ambition and optimism are admirable, increasingly complex issues（Wicked Problem）, especially in Southeast and South Asia, will exceed the capacity of a single design approach.

Multidisciplinary INTERACTION​

We believe innovative design can be achieved from diverse perspectives. We aim to help students break down disciplinary boundaries by encouraging communication and interaction among individuals from diverse majors and backgrounds, enabling them to create comprehensive and innovative designs that can balance the diverse needs of urban communities.

Multi-stakeholder INTERACTION​​

We believe visionary design that make a real impact to urban life can be achieved from professional advises. We aim to help students understand and envision how design influences people and urban environments by mentoring them with professionals, including architects, planners, researchers, scholars, and experts in the field.
