The University of Melbourne
The University of Melbourne offers two-year and three-year Master of Architecture (MArch) and Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) programs, as well as two-year Master of Urban Design (MUD) and Master of Urban Planning (MUP) programs. The three-year programs are suitable for students transitioning from other disciplines. Compared to RMIT, the University of Melbourne places more emphasis on design theory, while RMIT focuses more on design practice and methodological exploration. The University of Melbourne is better suited for students who are more passionate about academic theory than design practice. Additionally, due to its higher overall ranking, the University of Melbourne enjoys greater recognition and prestige domestically.
